Part MN4057 - Oil Filter Housing Drain Tube

This special drain tool is used to drain the black plastic oil filter housings on cars with the engines including 2.0T and 2.5 liter gas.  Using this tool prevents oil from gushing out of the housing when changing the filter element.  Precision machined from aluminum comes complete with oil-resistant extra-flexible tubing and a pinch valve to minimize the mess.  Once drained, the housing can be unscrewed using out Oil Filter Housing Socket (MN393400) sold separately.  Metalnerd® brand.

 Part MNSH36 - Oil Filter Housing Socket

This compact socket is used to remove the black plastic oil filter housings on cars with the engines including 2.0T and 2.5 liter gas.  Replaces our previous MN393400. NOTE:  The housings must be drained of oil before unscrewing the housing or you will have oil gushing everywhere.  Our Oil Filter Housing Drain Tube (MN4057) sold separately, is made specifically for this purpose.

Part MN341700 - Specialty Socket for Oil Filters & Filter Caps

This quality European-made oil filter cap & filter socket has 14 flats to fit filters and filter caps in the range of 74-76 mm. Fits most late model VW® and Audi® with the top-mounted cartridge type filter housings. This includes, A4 chassis Golf®, Jettas® from mid 1999, and all New Beetles®. Engines include: TDI®, 2.0 gas, 1.8T® gas and many others. Also works on some older, spin on oil filters. Made of heavy steel with 3/8" square drive.

Will not fit early TDI® spin-on oil filters (all 1996-1998 TDI®, and A3 Jettas® first half of 1999 Jetta®)
